2) Clean Your Workspace

It's advised to have a clean workspace before and after your study session. This helps as a clean workspace increases productivity.

3) Remove Any Distractions

Please remove your phone, mute all notifications. It's common in students and I'm guilty myself of using my phone to scroll away during the now "study" session. Seriously, how many times have yall said that "I'm just checking out a notification, it'll only take 2 minutes", to you now being on your phone 1 hour looking at cat videos. Currently while writing this I am also procrastinating, I'm sorry.

How To Avoid Using Your Phone

- Use it for your note-taking session

- Mute all notifications

- Put it away from your reach

- Switch it off

4) Being More Productive

Now the real question is, how do you become more productive?

- Plan Ahead

Do a to-do list on what you will be covering, this will help keep track of your accomplishments and will prevent any time from being wasted.

- Set A Time Limit and Take Frequent Breaks

It's not healthy to study for long periods of time with no breaks. What I suggest is to study for 25 minutes then get a 5-minute break. This can go for 2 hours and you won't even feel tired. Or, you can try my favorite trick, study for 1 hour then after that, watch one episode of your favorite show that is about 30 minutes long. Continue this process till you've finished studying. This can be done with anime, k-dramas, or your favorite cartoons.

- Have A Reward System

Set a goal for yourself when studying, when you've finished that goal, reward yourself. The reward can be either a short 5-minute nap, making your favorite snack, or being on your phone for a while. This makes you feel motivated to keep on studying.

5) Note-taking Methods

Taking notes is the most IMPORTANT thing to do when studying. It might be a bit daunting and overwhelming to do so however, taking the slightest of notes can be a game-changer.

My note-taking process

Imagine the picture as an A4 piece of paper.

  1. Take an A4 size paper

  2. Fold it into 4 sections (It'll look like a small book)

  3. For each mini page, write out your notes

  4. Label the pages

  5. Write down your notes

These are the different types of note-taking styles you can use.

There you go Fonzies!! Hope this helps you in your next study session.
