Top 10 Romance Books of 2022

Hi Fonzies! If you’re an avid reader and lover of the romance genre, it’s guaranteed that you’re constantly looking for more books to add to your TBR (to be read) list. With countless books being released each week, it can be a real head-scratcher to choose books that are actually worth reading. That’s when we turn to social media platforms to see which books are the most “hyped” or most popular. One of the most well-known platforms people visit to seek binge-worthy books is TikTok. The community that discusses books on TikTok (BookTok) is one of the largest on the platform, and as such there are millions of reviews on a plethora of books. Consequently, as of 2022, there have been many memorable romance books discussed on BookTok and here are 10 of the most popular ones (not in any particular order).



The Love Hypothesis by Ali Hazelwood


Olive shares a kiss with a stranger to make her friend believe she's in a relationship, only to discover that the stranger is Dr. Adam Carlsen, a prominent professor in her department. They agree to pretend to date for their own reasons, but as Olive gets to know Adam, she starts to develop feelings for him, leading to potential complications.





The Spanish Love Deception by Elena Armas


Catalina is facing a crisis as her ex (the best man in her sister's upcoming wedding), is getting engaged. She cannot return home to Spain alone, so when Aaron Blackford asks her out, she declines, fearing they couldn't be able to pretend to be a couple convincingly. However, Catalina's attraction to Aaron may make it hard to resist his charm, causing her to realize that maybe there might be more to their dynamic than she’d realized.



Terms and Conditions by Lauren Asher


The novel's protagonist is Iris, an undervalued employee of Declan for the past three years. Despite arranging a marriage of convenience for him, it falls through, and Declan's career still requires a wife. Iris proposes to marry him, even though they don't get along well. However, as they get to know each other, their fake marriage becomes more real, and they start developing genuine feelings for each other.




Twisted Hate by Ana Huang

Hugo wants to share her story one last time, but she decides to give it to struggling journalist Monique Grant. As we start to understand how the lives of our protagonists intertwine, Evelyn Hugo tells Monique Grant stories of old Hollywood, love, divorce, abuse, racism, and sexuality. The crucial question is still, "Why Monique?




Dating Dr. Dil by Nisha Sharma

She hopes Fox can help her get her crush, but as they spend more time together, Hannah questions her feelings and Fox is plagued by self-doubt and his reputation. Can they rely on each other to lighten their burdens?




Set on You by Amy Lea


Fitness influencer Crystal Chen is recovering from a breakup and focusing on her career. Firefighter Scott Ritchie, a new gym member, becomes her rival as he regularly takes her favorite squat rack. However, they end up bonding over family, fitness, and cheesy pick-up lines at their grandparents' engagement party. However, when a photo of them goes viral, savage internet trolls put their budding relationship to the ultimate test of strength.
